By The Way...

I just want everyone to know, that though raw did not work out, I still intend to keep this blog going. =) I will post more on different kibbles and other health/pet care matters, and what our pets are up to. And of course, I will post lots on anything I think could be helpful to others who have cats/dogs with epilepsy.

You know I didn't want to say anything discouraging but I was thinking that perhaps raw might not be working well for Henry. I know that dogs in the past originally ate raw meat etc.. but for years dogs haven't eaten raw meat and I wonder if perhaps their digestive tracts can't handle it as well anymore. And then with all the bacteria in raw meat such as salmonella, e-coli etc.. a dog with an impaired immune system may have even more trouble. But I commend you for trying and researching and working so hard to do what you felt was best for your dogs. Feeding raw is quite a bit of work and the fact you were willing to give it a try shows how much you love your pets. (o:

Our Yellow Lab, Caleb, has food allergies so I feed him Trout and Potato Kibble from Flint River. Trout is the first ingredient and it's worked really well for him. If you're interested in checking it out further just go to Flintriver.com They deliver the food to your door as it's not available in stores.

I also wanted to let you know that I've started Happy Tails again. Just click on my profile for the link. (o:

Many Blessings,
Michele

Oh good! I look forward to seeing your pet care blog again!

Riley did exceptionally well on raw, so I still do believe that raw is a wonderful option, just not for Henry. Henry had improvements in other areas, but his epilepsy is the most important thing. I am not going to feed one dog raw meat and make the other eat kibble, so they are both back on kibble and canned. Henry had another seizure last night by the way. =( I am not sure if the change alone triggered it, or some ingredient in the food I picked. I picked a fish based grain free kibble, and then for canned I used 95% beef EVO. I'll write another blog entry on it later on.

Off to go see Happy Tails blog. =)
