Picture Of Ice Pack

Today we made up a new bag of ice. Thought I'd share a picture of how we do Henry's. It is filled with crushed ice. Henry is a bigger fellow, (80 lbs) so he needs a nice big bag. (2.5 gallon bags) Make sure the ice is not stuck in a clump when you use it!!! Very important! Also, it must be actual ice! Not frozen veggies or anything like that.

After a seizure, it is a good idea to give your dog something that is both sweet and has some fat. If you feed raw, you could feed a pice of raw meat with some honey on it. Today we picked up some Haagen Dazs vanilla ice cream for this purpose. It's such a tiny cute little container. =) We would give about half of it after a seizure, and then a regular meal.

As I was taking a picture of Henry's ice cream, he was looking at me like this. He looks as if he is saying, "Awww Mom, can't I have the ice-cream now, pretty please?"

Go to the link at the top of this blog entry, and it will tell you more about both the ice cream and the ice bag trick.
